INFOFIT Educators is an exam preparatory school. We prepare you to write a variety of national and international exams. If you wish to work in British Columbia or Canada, it is best to be registered with the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA).
INFOFIT is accredited by the BCRPA and the BCRPA Fitness Program approves the content of INFOFIT courses. If you wish to write one of the international exams (ACSM, ACE, NSCA, etc), INFOFIT Educators' curriculum will also prepare you to write international certification exams.
The BCRPA registration is also recognized outside of Canada and it will allow you to work in the U.S. and at many vacation resorts around the world. Below are the Phases and Steps required to be BCRPA certified. Should you wish to write one of the International Certification Exams, you may choose to write your ACSM, ACE or NSCA exam after you have completed the Fitness Theory, Weight Training and Personal Training Courses.
PHASE 1 Step 1

Take INFOFIT's Fitness Theory Course (32 hours of Instruction) Receive INFOFIT's Letter of Course Completion

Write & Pass BCRPA Fitness Theory Exam ($70 exam fee, not a membership)

Take Basic CPR and First Aid Course (8 hours) Submit to BCRPA copies of FT Letter of passing grade on exam, CPR, First Aid, and $95 Registration Fee. You are now Registered with the BCRPA.
- You must be Registered with the BCRPA prior to taking the Weight Training or Group Fitness Course
Step 2
- Take INFOFIT's Weight Room On-Floor Service Instructor Course (20 hours of instruction) 16 Continuing Education Credits Receive INFOFIT Letter of Course Completion
- Receive 120 days of Insurance coverage to safely work with clientele and prepare for ICE exam
- Complete BCRPA Weight Room Instructor Competency Evaluation (ICE) 2 - 3 hours
Congratulations, you are now a Registered BCRPA Weight Room On-Floor Service Instructor!
Attain more Work Experience – Complete an additional ten (10) One-On-One Programs (call INFOFIT 604 683-0785) Keep your CPR and First Aid current by attending a CPR and First Aid Course.
PHASE 2
If you wish to continue and go on to becoming a Personal Trainer, the BCRPA now requires that you attain Work Experience - Complete twenty (20) In-Gym Supervised One-On-One instructor Programs (call INFOFIT 604 683 0785)
PHASE 3
Now you are ready for INFOFIT's Phase 3 - The Personal Trainer Course# 3
The BCRPA requires that you -
- Complete the Personal Trainer Course, INFOFIT's Course #3 (32 hours of instruction) 32 Continuing Education Credits
- Complete the BCRPA's Personal Trainer's Theory Exam ($65) - 3 hours|
- Complete the BCRPA's Personal Trainer's Practical Skills
- Complete One-on-One Examination (PFT ICE) (2-3 hours)
Congratulations, you are now a Provincially Registered BCRPA Personal Trainer!
PHASE 4
Continuing Education Once certified, you will need to maintain your certification with yearly continuing education credits PLUS continue to build on your qualifications as a Personal Fitness Trainer.
